Need help converting a Mod from 2015 to 2013
« on: January 08, 2015, 03:41:07 PM »
I need some help from one of the more experienced modders. I have a couple errors in my log file and need to know where they are and how to fix them if someone could help me please.

This error is your problem:
Quote
Error: C:/Users/Derrick/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2013/mods/PonssePack_by_monteur1_/modDesc.xml(54): Error reading end tag.
Error: Missing descVersion attribute in mod PonssePack_by_monteur1_

It means that an ending tag in your modDesc.xml file on line 54 is incorrect. I accidentally opened it in Firefox instead of my text editor, and it told me what the problem is, where it is and how to fix it.:
Quote
XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </description>.
Location: file:///home/jim/Downloads/modDesc.xml
Line Number 54, Column 11:        </storeItem>

So, remove the storeItem end tag and replace it with the description end tag.

DerrickB1970  if you have notepad++ it got the lines numbered  and you will have to do a lot more then just in the moddesc you will have to convert it back in GE as well and also  set it up useing lua because 13 done support the  vehicle type for the Ponsse  equipment in13

thats the vehicle type
Code: [Select]
<vehicle type="forwarder">  for the Ponsse Buffalo      and thats not listed in the 13 vehicle types
same thing for the   Ponsse Scorpion   because its type is
Code: [Select]
<vehicle type="woodHarvester">   but can be done   if you have the time and know GE and 3dmodeling program  and know how to script  because   you can back a model up in GE with out takeing it back to a 3d modeling program   i may be wrong about the GE thing  sorry  for breaking your hopes but it can be done

Nope you haven't broke my hopes on getting this done....just gonna take a little longer than I thought is all. Not a big deal there. Where there is a will there is a way, and that is why I came and asked people that know more and have done this more than I have.
