First things first.  The zip is.properly unzipped?  If it is, shapes file didn't get moved?  If it is crashing your game, what does your log say?

Hi onewrongbrother

You have several issues in your log that would effect your game play it would be best to address (fix/remove) theses mods.

You have several mods (PACKS) that are not even being loaded in the game as the contents inside the zip/pack should have been extracted/dragged to mod folder.

If you plan to edit/mod this game you must get use to the log and how to read it as this is very important and will help you along the way.

As for bigbud try placing only this mod and this mod only in the mod folder and start new game buy at the store and then quit then check the log this will make it alot easier to read the log and sort issues/conflicts if any. (If Mr mod you must have the mr mod game engine in mod folder)

As for bigbud not opening in Giants Editor as stated above make sure that the zip file was properly extracted before trying to open the i3d while its loading do not click or press buttons giving the editor time to load the mod. Look at the script editor window for errors etc causing any issue if any theres also editor log which can be viewed to sort and issue's

Make sure you have the latest Giants Editor if the mod has been saved in later version of GE then older will not open the i3d.

Good Luck

I have no intention of doing anything heavy such as editing etc just adding a few mods here and there making mods and editing I am not good at and things like G-Max etc I have given up on long ago,so far the Buds are the only ones that have given me a real problem.

The topic you have created here clearly says giants editor if you have no intentions of editing the mod then maybe the topic should have been worded differnent.

The whole point was to figure out what was wrong with bigbud. I only suggested to test big bud by its self in the mods folder to rule out a conflict with one of many other bad mods you have.

Having "call stacks" or errors in your log hurts your game play experience and will soon cause a problem else where "corrupt save game, game lockup etc"  Your choice only giving advice....

Good Luck

I am new to this sim so there is much I do not understand ,I posted Giants editor because when I have any of the Buds installed a balloon pops up and states it has stopped working then the sim crashes thought as much info as I could give would help.

So do you have an interest in editing the mod in giants editor? If so, what version of the editor are you using? only 5.0.1 and newer will open mods with a .shapes file. you also have to unzip a mod to edit it. if you dont know how you right mouse click, extract to folder, and put it in a folder on the desktop.. if youre not unzipping the mod you wont get any pop ups telling you to unzip it.. all that will happen is your editor will crash like your experiencing. Editor is 5.5.1 64 bit how I have installed it was downloads/farm sim/mods copied and pasted I have never used the editor before. Have just tried emptying an unused Hagenstedt sold all items then then downloaded a Bud and IH Tandem disc seems ok but the Bud with the triples crashes the third Bud still will not release the hand brake, little by little I am trying to learn how the files and such work in this sim and hopefully the Editor.

well first take all your mods out of the mod folder and add them back in one by one till there are problems, then remove the last mod you put in, repeat till all good mods are back in. I would suggest deleting all the mods with errors in the log.txt.

if that still doesnt help all i can suggest is you spend time browsing the forum and fs-uk at similar topics and maybe you will piece together your issues. KJ.

It too finally crashed the editor and game with nothing else installed but the disc I would assume it is the Bud mod itself which has issues?

I will side with you but without seeing the process in which you are unzipping a mod and trying to open it could be numerous things contributing to the issue. KJ.

I did the Buds the same way I did all the others I go to downloads click copy go to the mods folder and paste. If there are rars inside that rar then Iuse extract here and extract those from the main rar in the mods folder.

When you have a mod open for editing, it should be in a folder like these: https://www.dropbox.com/s/snf79bexo3iceei/Screenshot%202014-08-11%2016.14.15.png

Well, your title says Big buds crashing GE, so your doing GE by the sound of it so it's GE right?

Generally GE can be one of the easiest things to do with FS for some people.

Does GE give you an error log as to why it crashed?
