You cant have your sister doing all your dirty work can you?  *facepalm*

lol. Looks good! Glad you got it straightened around!

i can when she's the one who knows what she's doing. the original logo on that truck was 256 x 256. that was not the size of my logo and resized it to fit. so i'm gonna have her make it that size. so it's not stretched out on the side of the truck like that.

You can rescale it in GE to make it fit right my changing the numbers on scale X and Y. It has to have a power of 2 in order for it to fit right.

I think in the video I explained how to rescale, but if not I will make another quick one to show you :)

As long as you know the clutch is on the left, your heads straight, and your proud of who you are, you're doing pretty darn good.

If you rescale it in paint.net (Or other program of choice) and it isnt compatible with 2, than it will look distorted. If you do it in GE with the scale than it wont look distorted and you can scale it down to however small or large you would like to

no you wont need to start over just go into ge and rescale the adstrips that are the logos and save it.

Just gotta mess with numbers until you can get a good size that you like. Glad you got it figured out!!!  :)

Thanks for this tutorial!  I've had no problem following the tut to get the result I want in GE. My problem is if I rotate the mod in GE, say to put a logo on each side of a truck, and save it, the camera angle is all wonked up ingame. I know I'm missing something, not sure what. Do I need to create a new camera, then go back to the original before I save?

When you save your game, just save it looking at the view you want ingame. Normally, you'd just save it back behind your truck and it'd be fine.

Some say to make a camera just to edit, but I never do and never have had an issue.

If I call you something you don't like, don't be offended. It's probably the truth. And it's worse to lie.

Yes, when editing mods in some way I always create a camera and select its view to use until I am done. Then I will change my view back to the original camera you first see which is usually the one behind the mod. I then delete the camera I created and then save my changes. That way you don't have to worry about your original views getting messed up.

Name it the same as the texture file included and replace it in the folder(always make a back up first) open it in GE to make sure it looks right might need resizing.

So I take my logo and the i3d file and put them into the folder without changing the i3d???
I am sorry but I am new to modding and trying to figure things out.
So I take the file I downloaded.........unzip it........take 'sample' out and edit to my personal liking then rename it adStrip......then put both the untouched i3d file and the edited adstrip and zip them back up????????? Thanks for your help, gatorguy

Yes, that is correct.
And after you import it, don't forget to cut and paste the adstrip into the main mesh, or else it won't show in game.

Ok, so thanks to bullethead and tessfarms I figured out what I have to do and I did it.
When I go in GE with just the adStrip It shows up exactly like it should but when I import it, it is blank.......Pics are attached.
I tried the pic in both png form and dds form(just used a png to dds. converter) Help on this is appreciated.

Okay here we go:

1. have the adstrip folder (unzipped) on desktop with i3d and texture file in it
2. have mod of choice on desktop as well (unzipped)
3. place adstrip folder in the mod of choise folder and open mod in GE
4. import the adstrip from inside the mod of choice ( for maps place were ever desired for mods follow onward)
5. have the scenegraphe open and highlight the adstrip then hit file/cut
6. now high light the top of the scenegraphe (usually name of the mod) and hit file/paste
7. now the adstrip is stuck to the mod and wont stay stationary ingame feel free to place in desired location on the mod
If for some reason you cant see the logo you made try turning the adstrip 180 as the back is blank, if it is still not visible you have the texture path wrong and need to go and edit the adstrip in notepad++. Hope this helps and that you get your logo on your mod. It has been a long time since I have done this and I am at work if you still need help PM me in the evening and I will get you sorted out.
