will that one still be auto updated with steam versions?  :o

didn't click the link?

from the site itself.

Steam Installation
If you own the game on Steam, you need to install the beta of the patch 2.0 directly with the Steam Client. To do this, right-click on the game in the Steam Library, select Properties, switch to the tab Betas and select patch2.0beta in the drop-down list.

'tis ok, it's Friday and everyone is fair game today.

On another note, I've d/l it, not installed it yet, because the new editor that you can get from GDN is bugged....

I have seen that once you install the patch the editor works great.  I backed up my entire folder and installed it.
You now have the option to run in 64 bit mode or 32 bit.  The game has been optimized and runs smooth as silk even at 25 FPS.  No stuttering or lag what so ever now.  The game has been very stable without any crashes yet.  I think it was a major improvement in the optimization.  Give it a try.  Just back up your original folder first!

Is it just me or did they give the outdoor camera more lag time? it seems to lag behind when I move it. sorta like ETS2.

other than that I think the game runs smoother and I like it so far.

Three days ago I played an MP game with 5 people and they all had lag, to day we all played the same game with the 2.0 patch and none of them had lag.  So I think all the things they did worked.

Alright Giants, not sure what exactly you did, but I am certainly impressed.

Before the patch, my 16X South Dakota map lagged pretty bad on my old computer, but now it actually runs pretty decent.

On my newer pc I noticed a frame rate gain of 10-20, maybe more in some areas of the map.

This means those of you with medium pc's might be ok running my map.  Still not sure about people with low pc's, just depends on your specs.

Now, the only problem I am having is that some of my roads do not appear on external cameras until you are really close to them.

The indoor cam works fine on all vehicles, but with the external cam you can see my roads do not appear until you are on them.

Could be an issue with the roads being too close to the terrain, or perhaps there has  been some sort of clip distance offset with the external camera, I will check into it this afternoon and report back when I find an answer.

EDIT:  I realized that Giants fixed the Transform Groups so that transform group clip distances preside over the objects within them, when the transform group clip distance is set LOWER than that of the objects with itself.

I had my Transform group for my roads set to a clip distance of only 10, whereas my road pieces were set to 300.  Regardless, the roads were set to 10 anyway.

I changed the transform group back to 100000 and now my road pieces are using 300 again.

I can see a good side to this, since it will be easier to set the clip distances on transform groups.

Hmmm good patch i guess. I was able to max the game out at a steady 55-60 fps on ogf australia map. Although i do get the lag switching to different tractors, not to bad though. On medium i dont get it. Although with everything all maxed out my camera is different when driving tractors, dont like it at all. Anyone else notice a difference in the camera in this patch?

What ever they did to the steering isn't that great, on the ford forces (or at least the 5000) when I turn the wheels glitch a little, and the out door camera is gonna take a little getting used to...But other than that theres not much difference that I can see, I hope they add more tho, like the tedder not killing the hay stubble....

I haven't downloaded it yet but I keep hearing that there is a camera difference. Just what are the differences so I know whether to do it or not.

It seems to have a better FPS with less lag. But the camera is not as smooth which makes it seems slightly laggy. I've gotten used to it and don't really notice it now. I'd say download it and try it, I think the games better. Backup your files first and if you don't like it, revert back.

What do you mean when you say the camera is not as smooth. Are you talking about when you are changing angles like when looking different directions?

the new camera has more lag when you move quickly, not game lag but like it doesn't move as fast as when you move the camera. the closest game I can compare it t would be euro truck sim 2.

I personally love the beta anytime you can run a game in 64 bit is bound to be better.
I hope they can touch everything up and get a few minor bug worked out farming simulator has been needing this for a while.

The new giants editor 5.0.3 being able to run in 64 bit is also a very nice touch. And the new .shapes reduces the i3d for mods/maps making load times faster etc.

Very good job for giants!

there are several download options for update 2.0 beta 3, you have to download the version that says for disc game.-- that was stupid of me... :P

here is the link I use- http://www.farming-simulator.com/updates.php?patch_2_0

download the English version and select run download. it will auto install and then you should get a pop up screen asking for admin verification (or do you want to let this download install) and hit yes, then go through the installation setup page and it should work.   KJ.

The last few days I have been trying to get the patch to work but just can't get it to work with the maps I have downloaded from the mod contest. There are no errors in the log. I hope that the finished patch comes out soon.

redownload the patch because the first time I downloaded it, it finished downloading and did not run the .exe file after that even though I told it to. it works for me though now. KJ.
