Black Mountain Montana v1.1 FS19;sa=view;down=1722

This map was created using real world terrain from the area around Black Mountain near Missoula Montana.  Most of the map is mountainous forest with some farmland in the Northeast called the Big Flat in the real world.  There is a fictional small town in the Northeast corner with the equipment dealer and the sell points.  There is also a sell point in the Northwest at the horse ranch.  There is no BGA or train. 

The focus of the map is forestry, but there are enough decent size fields that a player can easily make a living just with farming.   There are no animal zones so they will have to be placeables.  There is ample open flat ground for the player to use for placeables.  You may have to cut down a few trees and grind the stumps off first though.

Version 1.1 Change log:
-New PDA map with the roads highlighted.
-Misplaced objects positions corrected.
-File paths to sell points in defaultItems.xml modified to allow the map name to be changed.
-Option to stop NPC's from planting cotton included in the map's xml file.

Hi, the map guide in the first post of the support topic for version 1.0 contains additional information that applies to both versions.  Either map version will be compatible with your save game.  If are planning on starting a new career you should use version 1.1.

The PDA map for version 1.1 has the mountain roads highlighted and color coded.  In the previous version the light dirt texture of the roads was hard to distinguish from the surrounding forest terrain texture.   For this map the roads highlighted in blue are the primary access routes suitable for trucks with trailers hauling heavy equipment.  The roads highlighted in yellow are secondary access routes suitable for trucks hauling empty or loaded log trucks.  The roads highlighted in red are skid trails are meant to be short cuts for logging equipment (or thrill seekers in pickups :D).

The file paths in the defaultItems.xml file have been modified to allow the map's folder name to be changed.  It will have no affect on a save game started with version 1.0.  I made this change because in version 1.0 the name of the map had been changed for one player causing the sell points not to appear.

Cotton and sugar cane do not grow in Montana in the real world.  The climate is far too cold and the growing season is to short.  I decided to leave those crops in the map because some players may want them in their game.  In my game though I do not like to see cotton growing in Montana ;).  I decided to modify the map so that it could be easily edited to stop the NPC owners of the fields from planting cotton.  I also made it so that they would stop planting potatoes and sugar beets.  If you want to make that change also, open the file FS19_BlackMountain/maps/mapUS.xml.  Line 61 is this:

Now the NPC's will not plant cotton, sugar beets or potatoes.  If you want to change which crops they will plant open the file: FS19_BlackMountain/maps/blackMountain_fruittypes.xml.  For that crop edit the parameter: useForFieldJobs.  If it is true they will plant it and use false to stop them from planting it.

Hi,  no your old save game will work fine.  The new paths to the sell point's xml file will have no affect on a save game, but if they are working for you that is an unnecessary fix anyway.

Hi, the more trees mod is now on ls-modcompany.  That mod will enable you to plant trees on this map.  The file moreTrees.lua will need to be edited to change the additional number of trees to about 5000.
