back hitch lowers too close to the ground
« on: September 01, 2018, 02:01:55 PM »
hello to all:

 I have this tractor challenger mt900E, when the back hitch comes down to pick up the seeder or anything else at its attahment points the back hitch sits too low to the ground and is scraping the ground with the seeder. you guys know this better than I do.isi there a way to go into the file and change something  so it sits above the ground. all my other tractors are ok and the hitch  is off the ground about foot just guessing here. I did look into  the  xml file under back hitch but all I see is bunch of numbers.

So is it a 3-pt hitch or a trailer (drawbar) hitch? You mentioned it coming down to pick up a seeder, which would imply a 3-pt hitch as they do move to hitch up. Most all of the trailer/trailerLow hitches are static and don't move at all.

Not sure which mt900e you have, but here is an example from one in my mods folder:

<attacherJoint dynamicHoseIndice="0" rootNode="1>" index="1>3|0|0|0|0" rotationNode="1>3|0|0" rotationNode2="1>3|0|0|0" upperRotation="24 0 0" lowerRotation="-19 0 0" upperDistanceToGround="2" upperRotationOffset="-0.05" lowerDistanceToGround="0.39" lowerRotationOffset="0.58" moveTime="2.5" >
            <bottomArm rotationNode="1>3|0|1" translationNode="1>3|0|1|0" referenceNode="1>3|0|1|0|0" zScale="-1" startRotation="24 0 0" />
            <schema position="1 0" rotation="0" invertX="false" />
        </attacherJoint>

The bolded text is what you need to adjust, if I am remembering correctly, to have the 3pt further off the ground--assuming that is the "hitch" you are referring to.  If that line is missing, just add it in and test ingame.

If that doesn't fix it, you can play with the "lowerRotation" number by adjusting the "-19" to something like -10 and test that...trial and error basically.  :)
