As an Oklahoma boy who loved the the FS15 vesion, I would love to see it completed. But I also understand that people have lives to live. And as you said, there have been some really good maps out lately. As a side note, I recently went back to work in the oil field and do most of my work within 20 miles of Greenfield. Have driven through it many times in the last 4 months getting to and from location. It is a really nice farming area and is represented well in your map.
Greenfield is where I went to grade school until I moved away to live with my mother.  I actually have a real terrain map of the Greenfield area that I hope to finish someday too.  Lots of projects, so little time...  :(

Count me in as interested in this project as well.  I am a HUGE fan of any FS17 map that is based on real world locations with real world terrain, etc.  I also lived in Oklahoma for a short while so this would definitely go on my list of maps to stream :)

Oklahoma was actually my favorite map for FS15, I'd love to see your reworked version.  Having lived in SW Oklahoma for over 5 years I can say the map seemed the capture the feel of it well.

Update:  Just wanted to drop a few more pics and report that progress is going well thanks to the invaluable GE scripts splinePlace and terrainHeight by Spline...they will save you many, many hours when building out a map especially on roads, powerlines, trees, fences, etc.  Still have a ways to go, but I'm getting there..decided to fix the terrain so that it is mostly accurate to the area, re-making all roads, and resetting all objects to align to new terrain.  From the pics, you will see that I still have a lot of grass to paint, but I am planning on doing that last anyway.

Yes, but not in a way that will take away from those who don't use the factories.  Most are on the outside edges of the map, have low (500) draw distances, and don't blight the landscape.  I added them to give more things to do but didn't want to mess with the overall wide-open spaces feeling of the map.  It is still a farming map but now will have other activities as well for those who would seek them--forestry, brewery, greenhouses, lime production to name a few.

Very cool, thanks for responding back and for your hard work, I know this is some hard and tedious work, I personally really enjoy the production side of farming sim , for those days when I get tired of just want to do something else than plowing...lol.

Wanted to give an update since I haven't posted on this topic since January.  Map is basically finished (just need to add more grass/fix some roads), so it's time to ask for some help from the community.

I need someone to test for errors in multiplayer since I only play offline.  Also, anyone willing to test the map in general would be appreciated--it always helps to have extra eyes.

If you would be willing to help, please reply to this post or pm me.

Regards,
Clint

@cjwilksy, if you do "export all with files" to another folder it will pull only what is needed for textures and models reducing the size. After which you can group everything(xml's and other files the export doesn't know to grab) back as you had for a zip.

Yeah, I've done that and it's still that size.  I do use a lot of one-off models and different textures which may be adding quite a bit to the file size.

I guess it's been a while since I replied to anything, but I guess I could help test. I don't have a whole bunch of free time, but I'd be willing to test when I can.
