It is a relatively new site.  The reason why we dont have thousands of mods is because we dont allow thousands of minor edits to the same mod.  Lets face it, that's all you see elsewhere

I think it's a great idea not allowing the same type of mod to be uploaded here,I think one is more then enough. :)

Ahh that drives me nuts when I'm going through the download section on ls-uk, especially tractors and maps.  They're all edits of the same * thing!  God forbid this 6410 has 2 beacons on it instead of 1...

Yea it's rather irritating (oh look I added this new barn to orchard map now I need to upload v3.4) I am glad this site will not have those problems.

Maybe if you're going to edit a certain mod that is already on here, maybe we need to do like they have done with the trailers, only allow the edited version to be on here ;)

What about having an edit to a mod underneath the original? For example, you've got this Deere tractor and three guys have edited it. One has new lights, one has new wheels and one has new sounds. Have the original mod there, then have a sub link or whatever for the other three in the same place, to avoid cluttering? It will need to be done when the edits are uploaded, so we'll have to count on our users to do things right, or their mod won't be approved.

Idea?

Sounds like a good idea to me, if it could be done.

Lets face it, american mods are 10 times better than any of them silly lookin mods you see on them other websites. It's sad because they want to put 10 beacons on it and big wide (not realistic at all) goofy lookin tires, oh and i almost forgot them ugly looking wheels that some ppl put on things and because of that its just insulting and ruining the looks of it and 9 times out of 10 its a pollybomb! americaneaglesmodding is the gods of FS!  ;)

Glen,

If this can be done this would work great. Honestly if you think about it, someone might want beacons on the tractor, Folks like me have never seen them on the tractors so having one with out would be cool. Some times the Edits can be better than the Orginal so saying no edits is kind of a bad Idea. I won't lie, I use very few mods when I play, and I use Peterj's Olivers and the LS Mod teams Fords (Only one out of the pack though. If Glens idea can happen I say give it a try!

Hello everybody, I just joined up tonite and I do have to say, I'm glad I finally found a mod site dealing with FS2011 on this side of the pond. I dont really care for the LS-UK site to much because they do kinda seem a little bias toward the american farm sim user.
I'll give a example, I tried askin a few honestly harmless questions about things I haven't figured out yet and 4 or 5 of my questions was moved to their "Graveyard", for what reason I don't know, I wasn't askin anything rudely or anything like that.
One of the questions I was asking was advice on creating a map, but I basically got a load of sarcasm from a few. For which I'm gonna throw my idea to ya'll and see if it can be done in fs11 or not. I'm wanting to create a map that models my area, which is S.W Louisiana, I'm wanting to get away from the standard crops except corn that are in the standard map and add soybeans, sugarcane, rice. I gotta alot of ideas of what I want to do but I'm still trying to figure out the editor. I really want to get the rice growing as real I as I can but I think the giants engine is gonna keep that from happening, 'aka' the ability to flood the field during the growing cycle. Another thing I'm missing in the equation is a good modeled sugarcane harvester and the associated cane wagons to got with it.
If anybody has any ideas to share or would like to help out in anyway, I would appreciate it.

thank ya'll
Ernie D

How about having a team that trys out the mods edits/originals and the better one gets on the site. Think that would push people to compeat to make better mods.

i think he means that part of the team should test the edits and originals and only the good one get uploaded to the site so basicly if they have errors or something wrong they would not be uploaded
