You bet!  (y)

Hopefully everybody has fun on it! If anybody finds any problem please let us know. I hope not, but something could have slipped passed us.

And I just thought I was about to go to bed....   8)

haha, I was gonna wait until tomorrow to release it, but figured what the heck. An early head start for any late night guys out there!

It is a very beautifully landscaped map.

Well thank you sir. A big thanks has to go out to this man right here though. Best beta tester ever. Even helped me fix many fields in it.

It is important to note that you will probably need a decent pc to run this map. It has lots of stuff in it lol.
Tested fine on a 8 core amd, 8gb ram, and a gtx 760

I will say you may want grass your headlands some as the fields are tight as in real life. To me I got the feeling of driving in the Smokey's and expected to see a bear or 2 .lol

Tomorrow...err well technically later today... when the map gets done uploading to drop box I will post a alternate link for dropbox in case anyone has any trouble downloading directly from the website. I will also upload it on FS-UK as long as nobody finds any major error's between now and then.

The cows are where they are by design. Also no texting while driving or you could end up in the woods or worse. ;D

The add multi fruit mod included in package allows the default equipment to plant , harvest and transport soybeans. Be sure all mods in the package are in your mods folder. I will add before the question arises to give the cows straw you need to drive into the barn as shown.  See enclosed picture.Grass and feed mix will go in trough.

Your mirrors are not working because it is too much detail to draw it all in the mirrors so to run better they are black

Unfortunatly I guess im gonna have to upgrade to a new laptop to play anything on 15.  I could run any map and any number of mods I wanted on 13 but now on 15 about all I can manage is the main 2 maps along with about 15 or so various mods. Just cant seem to handle mod maps.  Dissapointing since I just got this laptop in December 2013.  Map looked excellent in what little bit I could drive around.  Couldn't even handle the Nebraska map on here.

Yeah they are aren't they? Hadn't much paid to close of attention to the price of them. I had always had the money mod so it didn't really dawn on me. I'm updating the prices to more realistic prices right now though. If anybody else finds any other things that need fixing please let me know!

Wonderful Map! Simply Beautiful! Love how its not a multi million dollar farm but a quaint little farm in the USA's mountains, love the Briefing description also.
Most fun I had in 15 minutes on Fs15! My Mac run it at 30-40 fps steady so all good!  (y) (y)

Go ahead and get the latest patch then. After that fire up the game and see what the log says then. The patch wont hurt your game. My beta testers and myself all have/had a clean log, no errors left behind from the map. So I would say that is probably the issue.

****UPDATE*****

Field Prices have been adjusted according to agweb's figure's on average price per acre of US farm land @ 4K per acre. I'm not a farmer so I have no idea how accurate that it. But the prices on the fields look much better.

Now for you guys that know how to use Giants Editor here is a dropbox link with the updated fields. You just need to extract your map, place the folder in your map (not the zip), delete the entire fields transform group in the map and import this one. Save and rezip and you should be good to go. Prices have been reduced massivley, and two field sizes have been updated due to error.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ficyra6204jrc4b/FieldsUpdated.zip?dl=0

For anybody that has no idea how to use Giants Editor, or is lazy I will be updating normal download on the Great Smoky Mountains download page. I will update when the new one gets done uploading.

Also note that you WILL NOT need to start a new save game for this update. You can continue to use your save game without any problems.

Please if you find anything else wrong in the map let me know. I would like to get any and all errors fixed asap.

Thanks so much guys!

Upload is complete! If you have not updated your map already with the new field zip as posted above then go and re-download the map again...sorry. Fields have been updated on the original download now to reflect a more real selling price.

I just tried the new downloaded map and went out with starting sampa. It harvest the soy beans with no problem.Am using the head that was right in front of harvester in shop. This may be a dumb question but did you open flap on harvester?

I am redownloading the map maybe it glitched as when ready to harvest it shows as remove tops in stead of ready harvest. I did make sure to unfold the combine and bought the field #10 and #50 still can not harvest. I tried to harvest soybeans on my other 2 maps and I was able to with every combine I tried.

How can I take this soybean texture from this map and use it on my map? I know how to do it but there is no soybean diffuse file so every time I try it in my map it just keeps the same texture I had before. Thanks.
Title: Re: The Great Smoky Mountains FS 15
Post by: johndeere 4255 on January 04, 2015, 12:27:50 PM
its in the textures/foliage folder called foliage_soybean_diffuse You may need to open the map 01.i3d in notepad ++ and look for the foliage sublayer soybean line and copy and paste it in place of the one in your map so they are in the correct lines/widths.

Ok guys updated the map again....yes sorry. Wasn't planning on updating like this lol...I found a old wood shed and firewood near the main farm that had a few issues....all taken care of now, same with the one down the road from the dairy. Also removed some bush's/shrubs around some fields. The reason is so that you can cut down the trees and make fields larger is you choose (combining two fields into one)....Again you WILL NOT need to start a new game, you can continue on. Remember if you plan on playing MP you and your friends must have the save version. To download the new version simply download the map from the downloads page.

If anybody finds any problem, please let me know ASAP. I cant fix what I dont know is broken.
Open to suggestions as well.

Thanks for downloading guys!

As someone mentioned earlier "And I just thought I was about to go to bed....   8) " ! I downloaded and installed this map  last night and  purposely waited until this morning to try it out and for the sake of my sleeping patterns, I'm glad I did!
Wonderful map with so much time invested into it. I am becoming aware of the amount of work that goes into a good map as I'm learning to create one based on where I grew up - thank G-d for Youtube and message boards.
Anyway thank you John Deere, I love the hills, the cross, the signs and that great water wheel is so much fun to jump off of in to the creek! Perhaps later today I'll actually grow/harvest something!

One thing I noticed today on the map, I was field 30 and 32 together and I cut the trees in the thin grass spot that divides those fields and took my plow and plowed the grass strip up no problem. But when I went to plant there wis a really wide are there that wouldn't plant saying that I didn't own that field. Ended up having to buy field 31, 54,  48, and 51 to plant all of field 30 and 32. No biggie to me as I was going to buy those fields anyway, just wanted to pass it on

Ahhh yes, field 30, and 32 AKA the Devil's fields...haha We have had nothing but trouble from these fields. I'm gonna go jump in game and give that a whirl, sounds like we will need another field update....ughhhh. Thanks for the info though! Thats the stuff we need to know!  :)

No problem, so far everything else is working perfect. I've combined a lot of fields and changed the shape of some just by planting grass. Everything else has been fine

Is it possible you could post a pic of the spot your having trouble planting?I'm trying to reproduce to error in my game but haven't so far. But I haven't gotten the entire thing planted yet. Im using the default Horsch drill (The biggest one) seeding wheat. In that area I only own field 30, and 32. If I could pin point a certain area it would be great. Or can anybody else confirm this error? Also make sure you have the latest update of the map (If for no other reason just to be up to date) It still says v1 on the download, but that zip keeps being updated.

No the drop box link is just a zip with the updated fields to install in GE, not the entire map. I will upload the map to dropbox and post the link when it gets done for anybody having slow downloads, or not able to download from the site though.

Near fields 40,41,42 (I think thats the big 3 right next to each other. If your at the main farm turn left onto the paved road, then hang a right, go past the forest, take the next left (at the milk factory). The store points are down the road on the left side, at a very very small farm. You can also store wood chips there.  :)

You should be able to harvest, collect, and plant soybeans with the default equipment with the ZZZ_addMultifruit.zip that i included with the download of the map.

I have harvested with the starting harvester the small NH and the smaller Case with the Multi fruit mod installed. Be sure you put all mods included in GSM pack in your folder. If you still have a problem then try with just the mods for GSM and post a log file.

Fantastic Map, Love seeing all of the "American" icons now in a map. Also, being a North Carolina native, really like this map. Love the "cell phone tower" way up hidden in the hills just like in real life. Since my sister used to live in Hendersonville, I feel like I have actually seen these places, WELL DONE! Kudos on the Dollar General and TRACTOR SUPPLY!!!!!!! Really loved that when I drove around your town. But you sure didn't make it easy to use large combines, lol, one covered bridge and one narrow bridge, but it is really like that up there. One idea, the Cross in the wilderness, any way you could make one of those jump points to put you at the top, so you could see the view? I actually went up there hoping to find one but didn't. Still, fantastic job!!!!!!! clap clap clap clap clap

Acctually if you go down stream from the covered bridge between bga and farm you will find a little bit wider bridge on the back road. I agree it is a challenge to get a larger harvestor around . But when testing I had the 7130 all over the map ,every field. ith the aid of a header trailer it can be possible without using the creek. lol But not entirely large equipment freindly. As you stated that is the real life in that area.

Thanks, I had actually found that bring too, and had a crazy issue happen. I was using the Kenworth 100 v2 with the krampe modified trailer and got "caught" trying to get on the bring. I was at an angle just slightly and it wrecked ofcourse. It took a few minutes, unhooking and hooking the trailer while trying to move forward and back before it finally moved onto the bridge. If you haven't tried, add the Kenworth K100 v2, looks like By and the Bears truck, for those who know what that was LOL, google the videos if you don't, for those of you born after the 80's and check out all the hot women that was on that show lol!

The Kenworth seems to be a little low and catches on maps that don't have flush objects. For instance, the silo on the farmHQ on My little country, and big country maps, the Kenworth practically wrecks every time going into and out of the grain station point. Looking very closely in GE, there is a drop from the asphalt to the grate that this truck catches on, it doesn't hit it everytime but majority of the time. I use this truck all the time to help find these spots. Very efficient at it I'll say!

Thanks agian! Great Map and difficult ;-)

I have played for about 4 hours now and I really LOVE this map. It is challenging and looks very real, so I am sure I'll be playing on it for quite some time.

One question though: is there a more detailed description of the map somewhere? I would appreciate more details on the various farms, storage possibliities, sell points etc. to help me getting around more easily.

THANK YOU!

Is there any specific reason why liquid manure is not added with the manure mod ?
Also, would adding the water mod conflict with any other scripts you have used ?
Title: Re: The Great Smoky Mountains FS 15
Post by: johndeere 4255 on January 11, 2015, 08:42:12 AM
The liquid manure mod was not added because when testing with the default yellow slurry tanker and injector the liquid manure mod still left a trail behind as if the injector was not back there. Plus I don't live on a farm but from the videos I seen on youtube when spreading slurry if mainly just turned the soil darker looking, it didn't leave solid looking chunks behind like the liquid manure mod suggested, which makes since as its liquid manure. So thats the story behind that. You should be able to add the water mod no problem.

I will add the water mod then, would have loved having the beef mod to, but haven`t seen it converted yet..

But I still 2 small issues at the box storage for foods, I do my mixing with the mod "MischStation" of Marhu, but I did not arive to store it in the box for mixing.

For the second question, how do you have some dry grass? Because by making it dry with the machine, I can only store it with normal grass.

You need to start the description with: "This is a british map.." ;)

I saw one of you asked about the BGA extension, it works flawlessly, all of Upsidedown`s mods works as they are intended, and they all work together, I would recommend the BGA extension and Fahrsilo extension, especially since the green cut script included in this map (that script is also made by Upsidedown) practicly belongs to the other 2 scripts, and will allow you to run a realistic BGA, where you actually have to work for the money, and if you use the Bale extension to, your map is as realistic as it gets right now, you even have to get the bales inside a shed or wrap them to protect them from the weather outside..and it actually works.

Hi gentlemen:

I really LOVE this map, it will make you work hard , some of the hills are challenging, and in my opinion this is the  BEST map by far I have ever seen.

However, I have a small problem with stuttering, in particular near the farm with the dry grass and straw storage building. Whenever that building is visible, even only a tiny part of it, my game starts to stutter and it becomes very difficult to steer a tractor.....

I assume it might be a memory problem and I would appreciate any help on how to get the best performance for this map.

For information: I have an Intel i7-2500 CPU @ 3.4 GHz, 12GB RAM, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 560 Ti with 4GB VRAM using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

I also installed the game under Linux (with the help of Wine) and it runs just fine, but there I tend to get crashes to desktop with this map and I am pretty sure that is due to the limitation of usable RAM in a 32bit system (unfortunately the emulation only works with 32bit applications under Linux).

I would appreciate any tips and help to minimize stuttering or even better, get completely rid of it.

Have fun,
and greetings from Belgium

Hi gentlemen:

I really LOVE this map, it will make you work hard , some of the hills are challenging, and in my opinion this is the  BEST map by far I have ever seen.

However, I have a small problem with stuttering, in particular near the farm with the dry grass and straw storage building. Whenever that building is visible, even only a tiny part of it, my game starts to stutter and it becomes very difficult to steer a tractor.....

I have stuttering also. I just removed the storage buildings completely and there was no change. I did notice when I first started playing the map with no additional vehicles in the area I did not have that problem. Also I have 8gb ram on 64bit system.

Thank you JohnDeere1952 for that information. I shall move all my vehicles away from those buildings and see if that makes a difference as in your case.  Those vehicle mods were the first suspect also for me, but if I zoom my view in such a way that only very few of the surroundings are visbile when driving there seems to be no stuttering with vehicles in view, but in particular with the storage tower and the straw and hey building in view it is very disturbing.

I´ll experiment a bit an shall report.....

Thanks and God bless you and yours

I agree it is very disturbing. Also in my case I am wondering if ineed a bigger power supply unit as mine is only 350 watts. And my graphics card is a nvidia gtx 750. I feel I am not taking full advantage of my card.

As promised I experimented a bit with my mods and in fact, after removing the Gecko and the Hummer things improved quite a bit. I have then placed another truck and the Krone Harvester elsewhere and now my map is playable again around the farm.

Thank you for the hint and like you, I am still looking for possible settings to change in order to make optimal use of my rig.

Have a great day on the farm (and elsewhere of course, too) and God bless

ok a quick question? I downloaded it, finaly found where it went an got it in the right mods folder. unzipped it so it has all the zips in the folder, I can get it to show up in game, but it gets hung up on the game is being loading screen. what am I forgetting. just tried it in a new mods folder, same thing. I know its something simple but I forgot what to do.

Hi Mutt;
welcome and enjoy your stay here in this forum.
As to your question I would suggest you unzip the map archive and place the contents in a folder with the same name. That will give you a bit more speed when loading.
All other mods should reside in the mods folder on your C: drive (and I assume that to be the one you mentioned as "the right mods folder" - in fact there only is ONE for FS15...)
Then everything should work just fine I guess.

Good success and lots of fun on this wonderful map!

Did you get the dlc game or a disc. If you have a disc be sure to install the latest patch http://www.farming-simulator.com/updates.php?lang=en. Before the patch came out it would take forever to load a mod map.

I love the map and have quite a bit of time invested into it. I do have one major problem, when it started to rain the game locked up on me but didnt freeze. I makes it impossible to pause the game or get out of the vehicle and also starts to drain my money. Anyone else have the same problem?

What a great map! corn is so real looking even after shelling corn the stocks look so real, love the cross like to see this on maps love the big old stone church's. Any modders out there put a big stone church in you map along with chimes  when you go by the church. There is a church where i live here in oh. that's 3 miles away from me, i can hear the chimes from the bells. Thanks this is the best map so far after playing FS for 5 years and seeing the maps get so much better and A.E.M IS THE BEST

From map description on download page.

You can use any point in the stream in the map to refill your water tanker
Bales can be sold in the back of the Farm Shop (the sellpoint, not the tractor dealer) or at the BGA.
Milk is sold automatically at the default time

Love the map, but have 1 question.  I started off with the shredded straw texture that came with the map, hen decided I wanted to get rid of it, so I took it out of the mods folder after I had harvested a couple fields.  After cultivating the fields, the shredded straw texture is still there.  I even tried plowing the field to "turn it under" and it's still there.  How do I get rid of it?

You may have to start a new game or put the mod back in and cultivate the fields and see if chopped straw is gone . then save exit and remove the mod.

Sounds like you had a mod conflict. Try removing some of the last mods you added. Then look in save game backups you should be able to find a good back up save game. Also post your log file using the code tags.

From the description of the map.

You must Unzip the contents inside to your mods folder.
Inside you will find 6 files
1 - The Map
2-  A front loader bucket for handling all things in the map
3 - A mod that will add multifruit to your default equipment.
4 - Manure Mod
5 - Chopped Straw
6 - Green Direct Cut. You can cut crops while they are still growing. So you can forage harvest your corn while it is still green, before it dries out to be shelled.

This is an awesome map, thank you for your hard work !

I have noticed on fields 20 and 17 that hired helpers (and thus autotractor) go wandering off on strange routes into fences so there could be some sort of boundary issues, but courseplay and autoharvester handled them with no problems.

Field 23 won't appear in the courseplay field edge path lists (yes i own it) and I can't generate a custom edge path but it's only for grass so I can live with that.

Is there somewhere near the farm (the first farm, by field 20/17) to sell loose straw ?

Thanks again !

Fields that start as grass in the game won't show in Courseplay until after you have plowed them first. I don't know if it's a bug or an oversight by Giants, but that's the way it is.

A good trick for grass fields is to record course, just drive around the edge of desired area then stop at the start point and generate course. I can have course play cut, rake and bale all my grass and if I really wanted I can get it to pick bales up and drop them off but I should do something so I do that.

I have 8Gb ram, Intel i3 processor 3.4ghz, and NVIDA GeForce 8400S video card,

When I look up that video card there's different ones, each with different memory amounts.  Some only have 256MB while there is one up to 1GB.  What does yours have?  I only a Geforce GT 630M with 1GB and I have no issues with it.  If you have an internal video card as well as the geforce, make sure your computer switches to the video card.   I have Intel 4000 graphics card as well, so I have to make sure it used the Nvidia.  Also, reduce your graphics quality in your game options.  I can't run high on most maps, but medium graphics are no issue for me.

I noticed outside the basset auction house, across from the bio plant, two large columns are floating in the air one with a seed pallet on top, and one with a fertilizer tank on top. I mean, the columns are like 30 ft tall. Obviously some kind of glitch. Does anyone know what's causing this, or how to fix it!? Thanks.

Just downloaded the map yesterday, already my all-time favorite! Had one question, how do know the levels of the grass hay silage, etc storage? I have the help screen on and it doesn't show my a percentage. Thanks in advance! God bless!

Thanks for a great map. I just downloaded it a couple of days ago and I'm hooked. I like the small irregular shaped fields. To me they make it more challenging than the big square fields in most other maps and the trees and fences so close to the fields make you do a lot of the work yourself instead of handing it off to a hired worker. I kind of wish the feed storage shed was closer to the cow barn but I may use placeable heaps to cut down on the transport time, I will probably add a feed mixer station also when I start getting cows.

The only problem I have noticed yet is a minor one. The map icon doesn't match the actual location. In other words if you are driving on a road the map icon shows you driving in a field.

I go to the Smokies once a year for a nature photography get away and this map reminds me of the Cherokee and Maggie Valley, NC area. Thanks again for the good work.

There are parts of 2 fields that I know of so far that it says I don't own and won't let me work. The southwest corner of field 12 and the northwest corner of field 13. Yes, I bought the fields and was able to plant on the rest of both of them. I wonder if it has anything to do with the map positioning being off that I mentioned above because at the places that it says I don't own them the map icon showed me on the next field.

I'm trying to load the map, but it's been 10 min and it still hasn't loaded, is this a problem with the map or my computer?

Have you tried load just the map and required mods with no other mods in your folder? Also post your log text. With out knowing your computer specs we can not tell if it is your computer or what is causing. But the log should tell something.

How should I go about posting my log since it's to big to just copy and paste?

If it is that big it sounds like you have errors. Remove all the unneeded mods and retry playing the game. Then you should not have as big of a log to post. Clear your log before trying with out the extra mods.

It would not hurt to have the latest patches. Also be sure your drivers are updated. You could at least post your system specs. You are wanting answers but not giving anybody anything to go on.

Your graphics card, the cpu and the ram should be more than sufficient.

The intel i7 is your cpu. From what I can gather at this site https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCAQFjAAahUKEwjM-u-a5ufIAhUIQyYKHaz5DTQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.game-debate.com%2Fgpu%2Findex.php%3Fgid%3D884%26gid2%3D207%26compare%3Dgeforce-gtx-750-vs-quadro-fx-1800&usg=AFQjCNE6vY2tV8tuXOvkbXe3qIIe2TSLUw&sig2=op80dlsVsXeorBwYMhUfRg&bvm=bv.106130839,d.eWE
is your graphics card may not be up to running Great Smokey Mountains. I may be wrong, others would know more about this than me. But look at the link yourself. The reason I chose the 750 is because that is what I have and I am considering upgrading it. Then after looking at this site where it says can I run it type in Farming Simulator 2015.

OK, thanks for the help, I think I'll play then without it since I don't have the money for a new graphics card.

I searched your graphics card in Google and this is what I came up with:
http://www.nvidia.ca/object/product_quadro_fx_1800_m_us.html
Are you playing on a notebook or laptop? If so I would be vary careful when playing FS you may have overheating issues due to overworking the laptop. I also believe windows there are some other windows 10 users having trouble with mods and the game.

Hey guys I just recently downloaded this map and it's fantastic.  It is such a great setup if you enjoy the small farm atmosphere.  I do have a few things to ask though.

There was an earlier post about mirrors being blackened out on this map.  The response to that post was that there is too much detail to have the mirrors running.  Was this something the modder added so the mirrors stay blackened out?   I have edited the map such that currently have all (3) mirrors working and although i'm only starting out, it's working pretty well with my current PC specs.

I have also edited the map to include Soil Mod and Damage Mod.  Has anyone else tried these mods out on this map?  I'm only at the beginning stages but if anyone had some feedback on the modifications outlined above that would be great.  I will also do my best to report my findings once I get a little further testing done.  Feel free to PM me if anyone has question.

Thanks again for such a lovely Map!

Hello JohnDeere4255,

Are there any plans to update this amazing map to FS17?
