Autodesk 3ds max to GE issues
« on: May 09, 2014, 06:29:49 AM »
Textures are coming out white. I tried everything. Putting everything in one folder to separating everything. No matter what i do nothing works. I have made some nice trucks in 3ds....but they come out with half the textures or none of them. No errors in GE.

Its hard to say what you are doing right or wrong in this situation and to tell you exactly what to fix with out having step by step detail of how you are adding the material/textures to the model before export.

Here is a video from giants about exporting from 3ds max it may or may not help you if it don't not sure what to say unless you want to send a file.

I'm sure it is not the best way to do this, but with the new GE 5.5.1 you can now directly import an FBX model. That being said, it seemed the 3ds Max to I3d converter has had issues with the last three GE updates where it made the model convert without textures. So if you export from 3ds Max as a .FBX model you can directly import to GE 5.5.1 and it will have the textures.

Like I said, this conversion process may not be the best method, so see if the link Sivy posted may work better. If not then try this.

When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It is difficult only for the others. It is the same when you are stupid.

Me sending you a file is not going to help your situation. You can however send Your file so I can see what the issue is your having.

Totally up to you doesn't matter to me :)
